The more information you give us about what you're looking for, the faster we can get started on your displays. There's no such thing as too many details! What's most helpful for us when beginning a custom order is:
-How much jewelry you want displayed and how you want it grouped (i.e.: one display for 8 navel curves, one display for 5 special threaded ends, one display for 50 threadless, etc)
-How you want the jewelry arranged on your display (i.e. decorative, or in neat rows and columns)
-What specific designs you want that you've seen on our website or instagram, OR, if you're unsure, just let us know whether you're interested in low profile displays, high profile displays, or a mixture of both.
-What color and type of wood you'd like.
-If you have a specific budget in mind.
We are also more than happy to help you figure out these details. You can send us any screenshots from our social media, references, sketches, or ideas you have! It's our goal to curate your displays to match your studio atmosphere and gorgeously display your specific jewelry collection.
Short answer: It depends! Long answer: Our displays are priced based on material, labor, and number of holes. A price list of all our standard displays, as well as discounts we offer, can be found on our Pricing/Catalog page. If you don’t find what you’re looking for on that page, shoot us an email to inquire about pricing for custom projects!
Our displays vary vastly in length and height, from under 2 square inches to over a foot long. To ensure the displays will fit in your case, it’s best to give us info on the position and size of your cases. Average dimensions of each display are listed on the Pricing/Catalog page, but please keep in mind those sizes may vary.
We offer all of our stains and dye options on either Maple or Ash wood. When Ash is dyed, you can still see the grain pattern of the wood, resulting is some unique patterns and/or stripes on the display. When Maple is dyed, the grain is hidden, resulting in a more smooth and uniform texture on the surface. Both are uniform in color, it’s just a texture preference! To see examples of each, check out our webstore or our “About Our Displays” page.
Our turnaround time for custom orders fluctuates, but is generally around 6 weeks. We will let you know our current turnaround time when you place an order. Our ready-to-ship displays on our webstore ship within one week hours of ordering.
We do our absolute best to get your orders out in a timely fashion. However, we are currently a two-person team, and we give each and every display our full time attention. We accept and complete orders in the order we receive them, and we can only complete a certain number of orders per month. We also value our team members health, both physical and mental, and we allow time off whenever it is requested. This, coupled with living in a pandemic, means sometimes our turnaround time can get a bit long. We promise to never compromise ourselves or the quality of our displays just to get them out quicker.
Yes! Orders over $100 automatically receive free shipping. Orders over $500 receive 5% off, and orders over $1000 receive 10% off.
Oh no! Unfortunately we here at Obscureye are only human, as are the postal workers, and mistakes happen. If your display is scratched, broken, or damaged when it arrives, we will send you a shipping label to send it back to us so we can fix it. If a display is damaged while in your studio (i.e. dropped, a threadless pin breaks off in the hole, etc), we still offer free repairs (to an extent), if you cover the shipping!
Given the extremely custom and handmade nature of our products, we do not offer returns or refunds if there is no defect in the display. We have sample color blocks we can send you to review your stain and wood options, and always coordinate as much details as possible before you place your order to make sure your displays meet your needs.
If you decide you don’t want the displays at all, there are many options for selling them secondhand and we are happy to help you find them a new home by posting on our instagram.
Email us with any and all concerns about your displays, and we will do our best make sure you're taken care of.
We do not currently offer threadless posts. We drill holes for threadless ends directly into the wood, which provides a more snug /flush fit, and saves our clients the extra expense for posts.
Yes, barring any issues with USPS or customs. International shipping does not qualify for free shipping, and can be very expensive, due to the weight of our products. For orders over $1000, we will cover up to $30 of the shipping cost, but the rest will be your responsibility. You may also owe additional duties when your package arrives, depending on the laws and customs of your region. Please let us know when you place an order if we'll be shipping outside of the U.S.
Most jewelry brands fit snugly into our threadless holes with no issues. We have however found that Junipurr pins are slightly thicker and require a wider hole. If your display will be for Junipurr, or if you just prefer the jewelry to slide in and out more easily, let us know and we will adjust the holes size.
Email us! We are always more than happy to answer any and all questions about our displays, or discuss your custom project.
